According to the police, a group of masked robbers raided an LA Nordstrom and escaped with stolen goods valued between $60,000 and $100,000 after incapacitating security guards with bear spray.

On Saturday afternoon, approximately 30 to 50 thieves targeted the Nordstrom store in Woodland Hills, California’s Westfield Topanga Mall, as referenced by a statement from the police reported by NBC News.

The thieves used bear spray to subdue the store’s security guards while quickly grabbing luxury handbags and clothing, as reported by NBC News based on information provided by the police.

A video capturing the incident, which has been shared online, shows the masked intruders forcefully knocking over display cases and hastily maneuvering through shattered glass, escaping through the front doors into waiting getaway vehicles.

“Those responsible for this incident and similar acts in neighboring areas must face consequences,” stated Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass in an official statement. “The Los Angeles Police Department will diligently pursue those responsible for this incident and implement measures to prevent future attacks on retailers.”

The same Nordstrom store experienced a similar incident two years ago when a group of five masked robbers used pepper spray on a store employee and stole approximately $25,000 worth of goods, as reported by NBC Los Angeles.

Additionally, just last week, another large-scale theft occurred at a Yves Saint Laurent store in Glendale, about 20 miles away, with thieves making off with approximately $300,000 worth of merchandise, according to NBC Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department has stated that it is actively investigating multiple leads regarding the Saturday robbery and is committed to apprehending those responsible and pursuing criminal prosecution.
