Analyzing the Bears’ Victory against the Titans

The Bears only allowed 0 points in the second half.

Despite being down 17-14 at halftime, the Bears defense managed to shut out the Titans in the last 30 minutes of the game. Out of the Titans’ five possessions in the second half, three of them ended without them reaching the Bears’ 40-yard line.

After the Bears forced a three-and-out on the Titans’ first possession of the third quarter, kicker Trey Wolff missed a 48-yard field goal on the next Titans drive.

The Titans’ third drive in the second half resulted in a punt after Harris sacked Willis. With less than two minutes left in the game, the Bears forced a turnover on downs when the Titans were at the Chicago 10-yard line. Although the Titans had one final possession with 31 seconds remaining, Trahan sealed the game with an interception three plays later.

Fields praised the defense’s performance on Saturday and acknowledged that their success would also benefit the offense.

“The defense is just as important as the offense,” Fields stated. “When the defense can get sacks and create turnovers, it puts the offense in a better position to score touchdowns and field goals. So having a great defense, particularly a disruptive defensive line that can pressure the quarterback and stop the running game, will only make our team stronger. … The D-line and defense did an outstanding job today with the takeaways, so I’m definitely proud of those guys.”
