Mikel Arteta Provides Latest Jurrien Timber Injury Update: Arsenal’s New Signing

During Arsenal’s recent Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, their new signing Jurrien Timber sustained an injury on his debut. The Dutchman was involved in a challenge late in the first half, but managed to return for the second half. However, his return was short-lived as he went down again, receiving treatment for what appeared to be a knee injury. Timber, who was performing well as a left back, had to be substituted with Takehiro Tomiyasu, another right back, taking his place.

Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, must now be concerned about Timber’s fitness. The versatile defender was brought in to provide additional flexibility to the team, as he can play in various positions including center back, right back, left back, and even midfield. In an injury update after the game, Arteta mentioned that the team doctor had cleared Timber to play in the second half, which caused some confusion as it seemed like he was fully fit. Arteta added that Timber experienced discomfort immediately after making a movement in the second half, and further assessment will be necessary.
