TORONTO – Alek Manoah is heading back to the minor leagues to refine his pitching delivery and prepare for a potential Toronto Blue Jays post-season run.
Manoah was optioned to triple-A Buffalo on Friday, with reliever Hagen Danner recalled from the Bisons in a corresponding move.
“The same message that we’ve been communicating to him all year, really. Just focus on having a sound delivery,” said Toronto manager John Schneider. “We have seen progress since he returned, particularly in his breaking ball and fastball command, so he just needs to continue working on those areas.”
