Producers Forge Ahead with Wheel of Fortune Episodes as Vanna White Temporarily Substituted Due to Covid Diagnosis, Contract Talks Linger

Wheel Of Fortune’s Vanna White Replaced on Upcoming Episodes After Contracting Covid… as Producers Move Forward as Contract Negotiations Drag On

  • White reportedly contracted Covid-19 in late July
  • Instead of waiting for her to recover, Wheel Of Fortune had a replacement fill in
  • Producers replaced her as she fights for a salary bump after years of stagnation

Vanna White, the longtime co-host of Wheel Of Fortune, will be absent from some upcoming episodes of the series.

The popular game show will continue with a new person filling in for her after the 66-year-old television mainstay contracted Covid-19 in late July, according to Puck News.

Instead of postponing filming until she had recovered, producers decided to move forward.

They approached Bridgette Donald-Blue, who was named ‘Teacher of the Year’, and offered her the job as a temporary replacement for several episodes, most likely the usual six episodes filmed in a single day.

However, White’s absence comes as she continues to negotiate her contract with the series. She has gone years without a raise and has been earning a fraction of what her former co-host Pat Sajak made, even though Ryan Seacrest has taken over his role.
