Dornan, acclaimed for his performances in films like “Fifty Shades of Grey” and “Belfast,” reminisced about the time he and other actors, including Pattinson, Andrew Garfield, Eddie Redmayne, and Charlie Cox, were still struggling to make it big. Their careers would eventually take off, but Pattinson’s early success in the “Harry Potter” and “Twilight” franchises set him apart.

“With Rob, it was always a question of whether he fit in with us,” Dornan shared with Entertainment Tonight. “He had achieved success earlier with ‘Twilight’ and suddenly found himself in a different league.”

During an appearance on “The Late Late Show With James Corden,” Dornan and Garfield recalled their struggling actor days, which involved traveling to LA for pilot season and auditioning for the same roles. They supported each other with self-tapes and bonded over shared financial limitations.

“We were the kind of guys who would play ping-pong at the Standard Hotel, ordering one cocktail between us because we couldn’t afford more,” Garfield reminisced. “And we’d spend hours there.”

“But we had to order food or else they would kick us out,” Dornan added. “So we would order a burger and each take a bite.”
