BTS’s Suga Overwhelmed with Emotion During Last 3 Tracks of D-DAY Concert

  • BTS rapper Suga experienced a profound emotional moment during his D-DAY concert, breaking down and sobbing throughout the last three songs.
  • Suga concluded his three-month world tour in Seoul on Sunday.
  • His tears flowed during the performances of “Snooze,” “Dear My Friend,” and “Amygdala,” three powerful and deeply emotional songs.

As the final day of BTS member Suga’s D-DAY tour arrived, fans were already bracing themselves for an emotionally charged experience.

Suga, also known as Agust D, concluded his three-month solo tour on Sunday with “D-DAY: The Final,” a series of three concerts at Seoul’s KSPO dome.

For the majority of the concert, Suga delivered powerful performances one after another. At one point, he even brought out his bandmate and BTS leader RM for a special segment, where RM debuted a new and untitled song.

During the last 20 minutes of the Sunday concert, Suga couldn’t hold it in any longer and tears began to flow.

The first song that triggered his emotions was “Snooze,” a song dedicated to the late composer Ryuichi Sakamoto. The touching lyrics hit him hard: “Because you too are just a human, like everyone else.”

While performing “Snooze,” Suga had to pause multiple times to regain his composure, tears streaming down his face.

However, what broke the hearts of longtime fans the most was the following song, “Dear My Friend.” Suga added this track to the setlist specifically for the last three nights of the D-DAY tour. The song, from Suga’s 2020 album “D-2,” appears to be a letter to a troubled friend battling addiction, whom Suga had visited several times at a Seoul prison.

Fans, along with the rapper, couldn’t help but cry as he gasped for breath, trying to finish the song. He buried his face in his arm and doubled over in tears.

Despite the emotional turmoil, Suga surprised everyone by seamlessly transitioning into the final song of the setlist, “Amygdala.” This particularly revealing song delves deep into depression and suicide, showcasing Suga’s raw vulnerability.

Encouraged by the cheers of the audience chanting his Korean name, “Min Yoongi,” Suga powered through and completed the performance.

The concert ended on a positive note with three encore tracks: “D-Day,” “Never Mind,” and “The Last.” After the show, Suga assured fans of his well-being through a Weverse livestream.

“I’m not the type to cry,” Suga said during the livestream. “But my band members were there, and my seniors came too. I had a dream watching my seniors before, and now I have become someone’s senior. Those 10 years flew by, and that’s when the tears came.”

Fans will have to wait patiently to see Suga again, as his agency, Hybe, announced that he will soon begin his mandatory military service, which typically lasts 18 to 21 months for physically fit men between 18 and 35 years old in South Korea.

Further details about Suga’s enlistment date and military branch are yet to be disclosed.

Two other BTS members, Jin and J-Hope, have already fulfilled their military duties. The full group is expected to reunite in 2025 after all seven members have completed their military service.
