HGTV celebrity Tarek El Moussa has decided to address the recent accusations made by North Hollywood residents regarding their eviction for his personal gain. In an Instagram post on Friday, the star of “The Flipping El Moussas” clarified his involvement in a new project and denied the allegations of eviction. El Moussa stated, “Please allow me to clarify something about this new project. I am one of the partners of NoHo 138, which is working on the redevelopment of the Hartsook property in North Hollywood.”
Despite facing false accusations and misconceptions, El Moussa asserted that his intentions are good, and he hopes that people can focus on the positive aspects and the facts. To illustrate his statement, he shared an image of himself smiling. He assured everyone that he is not evicting anyone and emphasized that the entire process is being handled legally and respectfully. El Moussa made it clear that the notices to the existing tenants were served by the current owner, not by him or the partners of NoHo 138. They also did not issue the Ellis Act relocation documents.
The project undertaken by NoHo 138 involves taking over bungalows on Hartsook Street that have been occupied by residents for decades. The plan is to tear down some of these bungalows to construct a 138-unit luxury complex. However, one tenant expressed frustration, stating, “He is doing it legally, but it’s just not fair, and it’s destroying people’s lives for his own financial gain.”
El Moussa emphasized that the existing tenants will continue to be treated respectfully and lawfully. He explained that the city of Los Angeles has determined that a new structure must be built on the premises and has requested the removal of the existing structures in accordance with California Civil Code Section 1946. NoHo 138 has attempted to establish a constructive dialogue with the remaining tenants and has reached out to their attorney for assistance in facilitating a meeting. Their goal is to provide the tenants with a great opportunity while also improving the neighborhood. The new apartment complex will include 14 low-income units, highlighting the project’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
El Moussa concluded his statement by reaffirming that the entire process will continue to adhere to the law, and he looks forward to being a positive addition and neighbor to the community. He shared an image of himself and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, who is also involved in the NoHo 138 project. According to reports, construction is set to begin in 2024.
As of now, El Moussa’s representative has not responded to a request for additional comment from Fox News Digital. However, it is clear that El Moussa is taking these accusations seriously and is committed to addressing them with transparency and integrity.
