  • He has been sentenced to two years in jail after being found guilty of sexual assault

A Metropolitan Police sergeant who sexually assaulted a woman during his stag night at Brighton has been convicted and sentenced to two years in jail. Laurence ‘Larry’ Knight, 34, committed the assault after his group engaged with strippers at their Airbnb in the Sussex resort.

On July 17, 2021, Knight encountered the 21-year-old victim in Brighton town centre while social distancing rules were in effect due to Covid-19. They went into the sea together, and while treading water, Knight expressed dissatisfaction with his evening. Former Oxford University student Knight then moved her underwear to the side and touched her intimately after she reminded him of his upcoming marriage in two weeks.
