New York Reunion: ‘Taxi’ Co-stars Reunite with Danny DeVito and Ex Rhea Perlman

Danny DeVito and his ex-partner, Rhea Perlman, had a delightful reunion reminiscent of their time on “Taxi” in New York City.

The 78-year-old actor and the “Cheers” alum joined their former co-stars Tony Danza and Carol Kane at the opening night of the play “Let’s Call Her Patty” at the Lincoln Center Claire Tow Theater earlier this week.

The former “Taxi” castmates had a picture-perfect moment on the red carpet, wrapping their arms around each other for photos.

They were also joined by Lucy Liu, star of “Charlie’s Angels.”

The Hollywood actors came to support Perlman, who stars in the new stage play described as “a comedy about what it means to be a mother, a daughter, or anyone in the world doing their best to disentangle life’s mess.”

At the time, Danza, 72, shared a sweet snap on social media of Kane, Judd Hirsch, and Christopher Lloyd with big smiles.

“Love these people so much! #oldfriends #taxi” he shared on Twitter.

“Taxi” originally aired on ABC from 1978 to 1982 and then moved to NBC for one additional season, from 1982 to 1983. The show also featured Jeff Conaway, Marilu Henner, Andy Kaufman, and John Burns.

The series followed a group of night shift coworkers at Sunshine Cab Company as they navigated the ups and downs of life.

Hirsch and Danza were regular cast members from the beginning, while Kane and Lloyd started as guest stars before becoming full-time cast members. Danza portrayed Tony Banta, an aspiring boxer and Vietnam War veteran, while Hirsch played Alex Reiger, the wise counsel of the group and the only one who viewed cab driving as a permanent profession.
