Aug. 1 (UPI) — The cast and crew of Euphoria are devastated by the loss of Angus Cloud, a talented actor who portrayed Fezco “Fez” O’Neill.
Sam Levinson, the creator of the series, along with cast members Javon Walton and Storm Reid, took to social media to pay tribute to Cloud following his untimely death at the age of 25.
Cloud, beloved for his portrayal of Fezco “Fez” O’Neill on HBO’s “Euphoria,” passed away on Monday, as confirmed by his family. In a statement, the family mentioned Cloud’s recent loss of his father and his struggles with mental health but did not disclose the cause of his death.
In a heartfelt statement, Levinson described Cloud as an exceptionally talented actor with a genuine ability to connect with others. He expressed his sorrow over the loss and highlighted Cloud’s struggles with addiction and depression, emphasizing the impact he had on many lives. Levinson concluded by sending his love to Cloud’s family and wishing him eternal rest.
Walton, who portrayed Fez’s adoptive brother Ashtray O’Neill in “Euphoria,” shared a touching photo on Instagram, capturing a moment of embrace between him and Cloud, accompanied by the caption “rest easy brother.”
Reid, known for her role as Georgia “Gia” Bennett, Rue Bennett’s younger sister on “Euphoria,” shared footage of Cloud’s memorable performance as Fez on her Instagram Stories, expressing her overwhelming sadness with the words “the tears just won’t stop.”
Kathrine Narducci, who made a guest appearance as Fez’s grandmother in Season 2, remembered Cloud as a gentle and beautiful soul, expressing her grief over his untimely departure in a heartfelt tweet accompanied by a photo of her with the actor.
The official Instagram accounts of HBO and “Euphoria” also dedicated a tribute to Cloud, expressing their deep sadness and offering condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.
“Euphoria,” which completed its second season on HBO in February 2022 and was renewed for a third season, has faced production delays due to the ongoing writers strike.
