Additional Recalls from Trader Joe’s: Rocks and Insects discovered in 2 More Items

Trader Joe’s is once again making headlines with recalls that sound like something out of a twisted fairy tale. The Monrovia-based grocery chain has recently issued two new recalls for food products that may contain non-food items. It seems that rocks are the latest undesirable addition to the menu.

First, Trader Joe’s announced a recall for their fully cooked falafel (SKU number 93935) on Friday. This product, sold in 35 states and Washington, D.C., but reportedly not in California, may potentially contain rocks. Just four days prior to this recall, the company also recalled two types of cookies that may have rocks in them. The cookies in question are Trader Joe’s Almond Windmill Cookies (SKU# 98744) and Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Chunk and Almond Cookies (SKU# 82752).

Trader Joe’s stated that their supplier informed them about the presence of rocks in these treats and the falafel. In addition to the rock-infused snacks, the company has also withdrawn its Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup due to a potential insect contamination. It seems that this soup provides an interesting source of additional protein.

Unfortunately, Trader Joe’s did not specify the type of insect found in the soup. Customers who purchased the soup should check for the SKU# 68470 and “use by” dates between 07/18/23 and 09/15/23. The company assured customers that no known adverse health effects have been reported so far, and all possibly affected products have been removed from sale and disposed of.

If you have any concerns or questions about your Trader Joe’s purchases, you can contact them at 626-599-3817. The company is committed to ensuring the safety and satisfaction of its customers. Let’s hope Trader Joe’s can resolve these unusual setbacks and continue to provide us with their unique and delicious offerings.
