The Los Angeles Police Department is reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying a 10-year-old boy who was critically injured in a traffic accident while riding a rental scooter in Koreatown on Thursday.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Seventh Street at 5 p.m. following reports of a collision, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The young boy was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital where he currently remains in critical condition.
Unfortunately, the boy did not have any identification on him, and there were no fingerprints available for identification purposes. Therefore, the police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the boy so that his parents or legal guardians can be properly notified.
Upon examining the boy’s phone, it was discovered that he had Cyrillic alphabet writing, suggesting a possible Russian descent, as per the police statement.
The driver involved in the accident remained at the scene, and based on the current information, there does not appear to be any criminal negligence on their part.
