Palm Desert Jewelry Store Robbery Leads to Arrest of Two Adults and Two Juveniles

Authorities have reported the arrest of two adults and two juveniles who are suspected of robbing a jewelry store at the Palm Desert mall. The suspects, identified as Mason Tyler Barron and Cleopatra Tredai Jones, along with the two unnamed juveniles, were apprehended on Tuesday evening on suspicion of robbery, as confirmed by Sgt. Daniel Milbrandt of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were dispatched to the location on Highway 111 following a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at around 5:15 PM on Tuesday. Milbrandt stated that upon arrival, the deputies discovered that a jewelry store had been robbed by four individuals who had used sledgehammers and glass-breaking tools to shatter display cases. Witnesses observed the suspects leaving the crime scene in a red sedan, prompting deputies to swiftly locate the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Monterey Avenue.

After colliding with another vehicle, the suspects were apprehended. As the suspect vehicle became inoperable, the individuals fled on foot in the area of Monterey Avenue and Dinah Shore Drive, but were eventually captured. Milbrandt further mentioned that Jones and Barron have been booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio, where they are currently held on $60,000 bail. The two juveniles, on the other hand, have been booked into Juvenile Hall.

Authorities are now investigating whether these suspects may have been involved in other robberies in Riverside and Orange counties. Individuals with pertinent information are urged to contact Investigator Roman Lugo of the Palm Desert sheriff’s station at 760-836-1600.
