Additional Services Added by Metro in Preparation for Taylor Swift Concerts

Leading up to Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated concerts at SoFi Stadium starting next week, Metro has announced an extension of service hours to accommodate the massive influx of fans. With over 60,000 people expected to attend each concert, this decision aims to facilitate smooth and efficient transportation for concertgoers.

Taylor Swift’s performances in Inglewood will take place on August 3-5 and August 7-9. Across the county, Swifties have been relying heavily on public transportation to get to her concerts.

Metro has devised a comprehensive plan to cater to the needs of the attendees. They will provide shuttle bus services to connect the Green (C) and K lines to SoFi Stadium. Furthermore, they will add additional bus services on Line 117 for those staying at hotels in the LAX area. In order to accommodate more Expo Line riders coming from Santa Monica or downtown LA/East L.A., Metro will also expand its rail services with greater frequency.

Concertgoers can conveniently take the Green Line from Redondo Beach or Norwalk. Alternatively, they can park at the Hawthorne/Lennox station and board a shuttle to the stadium, which will commence at 3:30 p.m. Additionally, more trains will run on the K line to accommodate Expo Line riders, as well as those parking at the Expo/Crenshaw station.

At the end of each event, Metro will provide shuttle bus services back to both the Green and K lines. The last shuttle bus will depart 90 minutes after the conclusion of Taylor Swift’s concerts.

Rail lines will operate at a frequency of 15 minutes or better, compared to the usual 20-minute intervals. This will allow riders ample time to return home, as the last trains on the rail network will depart from downtown L.A. at the 7th/Metro Center station at 2 a.m. on concert nights.

In terms of parking, concertgoers have various options. They can park their vehicles at Metro’s stations throughout the system, or at designated parking spots along the Green and Expo lines. The parking rates vary depending on the location and proximity to the event venue, ranging from free to $30. More information about parking can be found on Metro.net.

Metro strongly recommends the purchase of its $3.50 round-trip fare and the loading of TAP cards in advance to save time on the day of the concert. Fares can be loaded onto digital wallets through the TAP LA app, or purchased at station vending machines. Students enrolled in the agency’s GoPass program can also use their passes to reach SoFi Stadium.

Furthermore, Metro staff will be stationed at key locations to assist new riders in purchasing tickets and navigating the rail system and shuttle buses. These locations include Los Angeles Union Station, the Norwalk and Hawthorne/Lennox stations on the Green Line, the Expo/Crenshaw and downtown Inglewood stations on the K line, and the Expo/Crenshaw station on the Expo Line.
