Rapper Ice Cube Expresses Distrust in Covid-19 Science and Politicians, Including Obama, During Peculiar Interview in South Central LA: A Six-Month Rush Job

Rapper and actor Ice Cube made headlines when he rejected a $9 million film role in the comedy film Oh Hell No because he chose not to get vaccinated against COVID-19. In an interview with Tucker Carlson that aired on Tuesday night, Ice Cube explained his decision, emphasizing that he did not want to be controlled and expressing concerns about the experimental nature of the vaccine. The interview took place as the two drove around Ice Cube’s hometown of Los Angeles.

Ice Cube defended his stance by stating that he believed the vaccine was rushed and not yet safe. When asked if Carlson himself had received the vaccination, he jokingly replied, “Of course not.” Carlson has been open about his own decision not to get vaccinated, revealing in April 2022 that he had not complied with Fox News’s vaccination policy.

Ice Cube acknowledged that he was aware of what the authorities had said about the vaccine but emphasized that it was ultimately his own decision. He pointed out the lack of accountability for those promoting the vaccine and expressed his concern for the potential repercussions. Despite turning down a significant sum of money and facing criticism for his decision, Ice Cube stood firm in his conviction and wanted to set an example for his children.

During their drive through South Central LA, Carlson touched upon Ice Cube’s past involvement with the Trump campaign in 2020. Ice Cube clarified that he had approached both Democrats and Republicans but found more immediate support from Trump’s side. He criticized politicians in general for having hidden agendas and suggested that they prioritize those who financially support them.

Reflecting on the election of Barack Obama, Ice Cube expressed initial hopefulness but ultimately felt that not much had changed for the people he cared about. He saw it as a symbolic moment, but in reality, the situation remained largely the same irrespective of which political party was in power.
