When Taylor Swift first announced her Eras Tour, I was amused by my colleagues who rearranged their schedules to buy tickets.
I couldn’t comprehend why my friends were searching for tickets to shows located hours away. While I enjoyed a few of Swift’s songs, I wasn’t a die-hard fan and couldn’t understand the frenzy.
Everything changed when my daughter started pleading for tickets. Once The Eras Tour began, it became evident that this concert was remarkable and obtaining tickets was nearly impossible.

I didn’t want my 12-year-old daughter to miss out on this generation-defining event, but I couldn’t justify spending $4,000 or more on resale market nosebleed seats and additional travel expenses to another city.
Fortunately, my daughter’s five cousins chipped in to buy her the tickets for her birthday.
As a devoted Swiftie, my daughter thoroughly enjoyed every moment of The Eras Tour. Initially, I wasn’t sure how I would endure a three-and-a-half-hour show from an artist I barely knew, but I left in awe of Swift’s talent.
In the following weeks, I exclusively listened to Swift’s music. During a trip to Nashville, I passionately sang along to her songs at the Country Music Hall of Fame. I couldn’t help but wonder if I would have another opportunity to see her perform, this time going all out.
Getting tickets to see Swift in Poland exceeded my expectations
As soon as Swift announced international dates for her tour, I took immediate action to secure tickets for one of her shows abroad. I set my sights on a Warsaw show for several reasons.
Although my children and I are Polish citizens, we have never visited the country. I’ve yearned to go for years, and getting Swift tickets would guarantee I finally make the trip. Warsaw seemed like a less popular destination compared to iconic cities like Paris, and it is also more cost-effective to visit compared to other international stops on The Eras Tour.
Furthermore, tickets for the Warsaw show weren’t being sold through Ticketmaster. The prospect of avoiding the company that mishandled the sales for the US leg of the tour was highly appealing.
A few days prior to the ticket release, I received a code for an exclusive presale opportunity. Considering the popularity of presales in the US, I knew obtaining tickets would be unlikely, but I set my alarm for 5:00 a.m. regardless.
To my surprise, I gained immediate access to the ticket portal. I managed to secure three VIP floor seats for the first night of Swift’s Eras Tour in Warsaw, totaling less than $1,000. My daughter, son, and I wasted no time in making friendship bracelets to commemorate the event.

Although the tickets for the Warsaw show weren’t cheap, the overall cost, including our European trip, will likely be similar to the price of the two nosebleed seats I purchased for Swift’s US performance.
While I hope to use credit card points to book our flights, even if I don’t, I estimate the total expenditure for the trip to be around $4,000 to $5,000. This is not significantly greater than what my family typically spends on our annual vacation, and I have over a year to save.
However, unlike other family vacations, this trip provides the opportunity to explore our roots and experience a new part of the world. I would have never predicted that it would be Swift who finally convinced me to visit Poland, but it’s just one more reason for me to adore her.
