In a heartwarming display of friendship, two former Leeds Rhinos rugby players, Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow, completed a marathon together in Leeds. Sinfield even carried Burrow out of his specially adapted wheelchair during the emotional moment in May. This act of support symbolized their strong bond and inspired many.
Not only is Sinfield a dedicated friend, but he has also raised over £8 million for motor neurone disease (MND) charities through various marathons. These efforts were motivated by Burrow’s diagnosis with the condition in 2019. In particular, Sinfield organized the inaugural Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon, which contributed to the significant fundraising total.
To further celebrate their friendship and promote universal values, a book titled “With You Every Step: A Celebration Of Friendship” will be published this year. The book explores themes of kindness, empathy, resilience, and love. Talented UK illustrators will bring the heartfelt words of Sinfield and Burrow to life through beautiful black line artwork. Proceeds from the book will be donated to support individuals with MND.
Kevin Sinfield, currently serving as the England rugby union defence coach, shared his belief in the value of connections and interactions, especially with friends and family. He hopes that this book about friendship will help parents, regardless of gender,
