This August, my family and I are embarking on a trip to the beautiful Swiss Alpine village of Klosters. Although we won’t be able to experience the extensive 700km network of hiking trails due to our two toddlers, we have exciting alternative activities planned. We’ll enjoy refreshing swims at the lido, have the opportunity to milk cows and sample delicious cheese from our friendly local farmer, take e-mountain bikes to riverside campfires for bratwurst, and maybe even take a daring plunge in the glacial river (though I suspect I’ll be the only one brave enough to do so). The views of the Swiss Alps from Madrisa mountain will be breathtaking.

To ensure comfort and style during our activities, I’ll be trading in my traditional boots for a pair of On Cloudvista trail running shoes. These lightweight and attractive shoes are perfect for both travel and leisurely strolls in town, while still providing the necessary protection and grip for shorter trails. My three-year-old daughter also has her own pair of On’s Cloud Play shoes, which she adores with their velcro fastenings.

Protecting our eyes from the sun is important, especially when we have a curious one-and-a-half-year-old. That’s why I’ve opted for the SunGod Renegades sunglasses, known for their durability and resistance to damage. These sunglasses have a classic shape that suits narrower faces like mine, and their screwless hinges ensure they easily return to their original position if accidentally pulled off. They’re also ideal for various sports activities and can be personalized with a range of lens and frame colors.

When venturing into the mountains during the summer, I always carry a high-quality rain jacket to prepare for unexpected weather changes. The Arc’teryx Beta Lightweight jacket is my go-to choice, as it is made with three-layer Gore-Tex material, providing excellent waterproofing and breathability. Additionally, it is lightweight and easily foldable, making it convenient to carry in a bag without taking up too much space.

Traveling with a baby can be challenging, but the Joolz Aer+ stroller makes it much more manageable. It’s incredibly easy to fold with just one hand, a crucial feature when juggling a wriggling baby. Weighing only 6kg, it is exceptionally light and compact enough to fit in an overhead locker. The stroller also offers excellent suspension, a full recline setting for nap time, and a generously sized sun hood for maximum shade.

No family picnic is complete without a comfortable blanket, and the Voited Ripstop outdoor blanket is just what we need. Not only is it water and stain-resistant, but it can also be easily machine-washed. The blanket’s unique design allows it to function as a pillow, cape, or sleeping bag, thanks to the poppers along its edges. It will undoubtedly provide a base camp of fun and relaxation for our kids during our outdoor adventures.

As a passionate birdwatcher, I always carry a pair of binoculars with me to seize every opportunity for bird spotting. The Swarovski CL Pocket 10×25 binoculars are pocket-sized and perfect for on-the-go observations. Despite their compact size, they offer 10x magnification, allowing me to get a close-up look at even the most elusive birds. With these binoculars, I can positively identify any subject without any excuses.

When traveling with little ones, keeping their tummies satisfied is crucial. The Hydro Flask insulated food jar has been a lifesaver for us. It ensures that our hearty meals stay warm or cool, depending on the weather. Its wide neck makes it easy to eat directly from, and the jars are leak-proof and available in different sizes, including a large option that can feed the entire family.
