Anjli Mohindra is currently starring in the thrilling sci-fi series “The Lazarus Project.” The show’s mind-boggling premise feels incredibly plausible due to its well-crafted storytelling, according to Mohindra in an interview with UPI. Mohindra praised the grounded exploration of the high-concept world, where viewers get a glimpse into the daily lives of people navigating an extraordinary and epic reality.

The Lazarus Project, airing on TNT on Sunday nights, follows a secret organization equipped with the ability to manipulate time and reverse potential apocalyptic events. Mohindra expressed that the show’s premise resonated with her because it felt like the type of secret international organization that could exist unbeknownst to society. She also noted the relatable feeling of the world potentially reaching its end, which is portrayed in the series.

Created and written by Joe Barton, The Lazarus Project introduces Mohindra’s character, Archie, who recruits computer app designer George (played by Paapa Essieduinto) after he discovers his unique ability to sense when time is reset. However, when someone close to George becomes endangered, he challenges the organization’s rules and urges them to save the individual, even if the situation is not globally catastrophic.

Mohindra commended Joe Barton’s creation of a complex world that examines the dichotomy between altruism and egoism, particularly during a time when societal values are prioritized over individual concerns. She described the series as both thrilling and thought-provoking, delving into significant philosophical questions while providing an entertaining and cinematic experience.

Playing the character of Archie, Mohindra embraced the opportunity to portray a strong, sharp, and humorous individual who uses humor as a form of protection. She highlighted the contrast between her own personality and Archie’s, emphasizing the enjoyment she found in portraying such a different character. Mohindra admitted that she often considers how Archie would handle real-life situations, underscoring the rarity of such complex female characters in the industry.

The Lazarus Project features an ensemble cast including Tom Burke, Caroline Quentin, Rudi Dharmalingam, and Charly Clive. The show has already been renewed for a second season.
