‘Democrats’ Hypocrisy Exposed: John Kerry Under Fire for Dishonesty About Private Jet Use’

John Kerry, the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, faced heavy criticism during a congressional hearing after he claimed to have never owned a private jet.

During the hearing, held by the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., confronted Kerry about his past private jet use and his efforts to combat climate change. Kerry vehemently denied ever owning a jet and dismissed the accusations as “outrageously persistent lies.”

“The bottom line is that the climate czar is being hypocritical when he and his family leave a 325 metric ton carbon footprint from their private jet,” Mills told Fox News Digital. “Meanwhile, Kerry expects the average American to be carbon-neutral and to purchase expensive, unreliable electric vehicles.”

“Once again, the Democrats demonstrate their hypocrisy by dictating how Americans should live while doing the opposite themselves,” Mills continued.

“I just don’t agree with your facts, which began with the presentation of one of the most outrageously persistent lies that I hear, which is this private jet. We don’t own a private jet. I don’t own a private jet. I personally have never owned a private jet. According to flight tracking data obtained by Fox News Digital in July 2022, a Gulfstream GIV-SP jet owned by Kerry’s family made a total of 48 trips that lasted more than 60 hours and emitted an estimated 715,886 pounds, or 325 metric tons, of carbon over the course of the first 18 months of the Biden administration.

The jet was registered to Flying Squirrel LLC, a charter company owned by Kerry’s wife, Teresa Heinz-Kerry, and in which Kerry reported owning a stake worth over $1 million in past financial disclosures.

However, one month after the Fox News Digital report highlighted the carbon emissions of the jet, and following criticism from lawmakers, it was sold to an energy-focused hedge fund in New York City. Whitney Smith, a spokesperson for the State Department, confirmed the sale and stated that Kerry now travels commercially in his current role.

“Whether the jet belonged to him or his wife is missing the bigger picture. John Kerry is an unelected bureaucrat making decisions that significantly impact American lives. Most Americans are more concerned about the cost of gas for their cars than the cost of flying a jet to attend a coronation,” said Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., who chairs the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability.
