OceanGate Takes Down Website and Social Media Accounts

OceanGate has recently made the decision to remove its presence from the internet, taking down its social media pages and darkening its website. This move comes shortly after the company announced the suspension of all deep-sea exploration. Currently, only the website of OceanGate Foundation remains active.

The exact time when OceanGate took down its website and social media profiles cannot be verified at the moment. However, both the OceanGate and OceanGate Expeditions websites now redirect users to a notice stating that the company has halted all exploration and commercial operations. An archived version of the OceanGate Expeditions website from July 8 reveals that the suspension notice was initially displayed prominently on the website, along with links to expeditions and submersibles.

OceanGate has also made efforts to remove its presence from social media platforms. The Facebook pages of both OceanGate and OceanGate Expeditions are no longer accessible. Additionally, the LinkedIn page of OceanGate Expeditions is shown as unavailable, and Twitter states that OceanGate’s profile does not exist. OceanGate’s Instagram account has been set to private, while the account of OceanGate Expeditions appears to have been deleted.

At present, only the website of OceanGate Foundation remains active, although its Facebook page has also been taken down. It’s worth noting that OceanGate and its CEO, Stockton Rush, have faced scrutiny following the disappearance of the Titan submersible during a dive to the Titanic shipwreck on June 18. The US Coast Guard has since stated that the submersible likely imploded, resulting in the loss of all five individuals on board, including Rush.

Representatives of OceanGate have not yet responded to a request for comment from Insider, sent outside of regular business hours.
