  • Collin Gosselin revealed that his mother, Kate, directed her emotions towards him during their divorce.
  • Hannah, his sister, confirmed that Collin was often isolated and had separate meal times.
  • Insider reached out to Kate Gosselin’s representative for a response, but has not received one yet.

Former TLC star, Collin Gosselin, expressed that his mother, Kate Gosselin, projected her anger and frustration onto him amidst their divorce and her decline from reality TV.

In a recently published TikTok video by Vice TV promoting their docuseries “Dark Side of the 2000s,” Gosselin acknowledged that his mother was dealing with challenging circumstances during the 2009 divorce and other life events.

He continued, “I want to believe that she needed someone to vent her anger and frustration on, and unfortunately, it was me. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and she chose me.”

The 19-year-old admitted that he wasn’t a perfect child but emphasized that his misbehavior was no different from his siblings.

Hannah Gosselin, one of Collin’s sextuplet siblings, recalled how he was often isolated and had different meal times than the rest of the family.

Insider requested a comment from Kate Gosselin’s representative, but has not received a response yet.

In November 2022, Collin Gosselin spoke to Kevin Frazier from Entertainment Tonight and revealed that he was institutionalized twice by his mother as a minor.

In 2016, Kate sent Collin away to address his “special needs.” However, at the time, Collin denied having any behavioral disorders and expressed that the facilities had a negative impact on his mental well-being.

He reached out to his father, Jon, through a note delivered by someone outside of the institution, begging for a second chance.

In 2018, Jon was granted temporary full custody of Collin when Kate failed to appear for a hearing, according to Fox News.

Collin appeared on the reality TV show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which documented their lives as a family of ten for 11 seasons from 2007 to 2107. After the divorce, the show was rebranded as “Kate Plus 8.”

The show followed Collin, Hannah, and their sextuplet siblings, Joel, Leah, Alexis, and Aaden, on various family adventures alongside their parents and twin siblings, Mady and Cara, who are now 22 years old.

However, in November 2022, Collin told Entertainment Tonight that he believes the pressure of being in front of the whole world on reality TV contributed to his parents’ split.

He stated, “In life, we all face difficulties and get knocked down. But instead of dwelling on it, we should address and resolve the situation to come out stronger. Resilience is key.”

Collin mentioned that he is doing well and plans to join the Marine Corps. However, he expressed his disappointment in not having a relationship with his mother at the moment.
