- BTS’ Suga, during his trainee days, used to consume blended chicken breast, banana, and grape juice shakes.
- Jin, the oldest member of the group, revealed this concoction in their recent memoir.
- Jin also shared that he took on the responsibility of cooking for the group and organizing their chore schedule at the dorm.
During their trainee days, Suga, a member of BTS, had an unconventional approach to consuming chicken breast. Instead of eating it plain, he would blend it with bananas and grape juice, as recounted by his bandmate Jin in their memoir.
In their memoir, “Beyond the Story: 10-year record of BTS,” written by journalist Myeongseok Kang and the group themselves, BTS reflects on their early days as a group. Before becoming one of the biggest music acts globally, they were seven teenagers living together in a dorm. As the memoir reveals, conditions were far from ideal.
Jin, the eldest member of the group, moved into the dorm approximately a year before BTS’s debut in 2013. In “Beyond the Story,” Jin discloses that the living conditions, particularly regarding food, were not satisfactory. Suga, one of the group’s rappers, had a simplistic approach to eating. He consumed chicken breasts for protein but found even that to be bothersome, leading him to blend them with grape juice and a banana.
Jin, on the other hand, had a different cooking style and affinity for food, as demonstrated in his mukbang series “Eat Jin” and cooking posts on BTS’s blog. When he moved into the dorm, he took over the role of cooking for the other members and also helped organize chores, including cleaning up scattered food, clothes, and dirty dishes. Jin eventually understood the chaotic state of the dorm when the group had 14-hour rehearsal days.
“After about three months there… I finally realized why they had come to live the way they did,” Jin explained.
