A 33-year-old man from the Romoland area has been apprehended on suspicion of burglary, authorities announced on Saturday.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the burglary was reported at approximately 7:35 a.m. on Wednesday in a business located in the 300 block of Mapes Road in Perris.
The owner of the establishment reported to the deputies that his business had been burglarized and several items, including a bobcat, trailer, and numerous tools and equipment, were stolen overnight.
The Menifee Police Department collaborated in the investigation, leading to the recovery of the stolen property at a residence situated in the 27000 block of Ethanac Road in Menifee, as per the authorities.
The suspect has been identified as Rigoberto Plasencia. He has been arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on multiple felony charges, including violation of his post-release community supervision, informed Sgt. Dave Tinker.
The Sheriff’s Perris Station Robbery Burglary Suppression Team managed to recover approximately $50,000 worth of stolen property belonging to the business owner. In addition, they also found around $12,500 worth of stolen Milwaukee tools from a Home Depot store.
Information regarding Plasencia’s previous arrest is not yet available.
