After Cell Phone Incident, Bebe Rexha Takes Safety Precautions Onstage with Safety Goggles

  • Bebe Rexha donned what appeared to be safety goggles during her concert in Los Angeles, following an incident where she was hit in the face with a cell phone at a New York City show.
  • Both Ava Max and Kelsea Ballerini have also experienced assaults while performing on stage since Rexha’s incident.

Following the incident where Bebe Rexha was hit in the face with a cell phone, she was spotted wearing safety goggles during her concert in Los Angeles.

The local radio station 102.7 KIIS FM shared a video of Rexha wearing the goggles on their Instagram account.

The video captures her onstage, singing “I’m Good (Blue)” in a sparkling blue top, dark-colored pants, and long gloves, with her hair styled in a middle part and accessorized with matching blue-tinted shades.

Representatives for Rexha have not yet responded to Insider’s request for comment.

Some commenters expressed their support for Rexha’s decision to wear the safety goggles, with one stating, “Wearing them safety glasses cause she ain’t playing no more!”

Rexha’s makeup artist, Diana Shin, shared close-up shots of the singer’s concert makeup on Instagram, featuring dark blue winged shadow and long lashes.

While it remains unclear whether Rexha wore the goggles for style or protection, the latter seems possible considering she suffered a facial injury from a cell phone incident last month, which required stitches.

Following the incident, a man named Nicolas Malvagna was arrested and charged with assault according to the New York Police Department.

Rexha has been updating her fans on her recovery and even shared a photo of her healing eye on Twitter.

Unfortunately, Rexha’s injury was just the beginning of a series of assaults on female performers.

Ava Max was slapped by a fan during an LA show, and recently, Kelsea Ballerini was hit by an object thrown from the crowd at an Idaho concert.

Ballerini addressed the incident in an Instagram caption, emphasizing the importance of ensuring everyone’s safety at shows.
