RFK Jr. states his interest in increased inoculation testing

Controversial Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. asserted on Wednesday that he is not against vaccines, but rather wants to see more thorough testing conducted on vaccines administered to children. Kennedy, known for his criticisms of vaccines and linking them to autism, recently had an interview with Jordan Peterson removed from YouTube for spreading vaccine misinformation and was banned from Instagram for posting debunked claims about coronavirus and vaccines. However, during a town hall event on Wednesday, Kennedy denied ever being opposed to vaccines when questioned by a doctor. Despite his denial, Kennedy has been accused of spreading misinformation about vaccines, including false claims that they are not tested for long-term side effects. He called for vaccines to undergo safety testing similar to other medications and challenged the lack of evidence provided by Dr. Anthony Fauci regarding the safety testing of vaccines for children, going as far as saying that he sued him. Kennedy argued that federal agencies approve vaccines based on profit motives rather than prioritizing human health. He expressed the need for scientific research and an agency that puts human health first. However, Kennedy faces an uphill battle in his pursuit of the Democratic nomination against President Joe Biden. According to a recent poll, Biden enjoys support from 58 percent of Democrats surveyed, while Kennedy only has the backing of 15 percent. The poll also revealed that a significant majority of voters, including 80 percent of Democrats, want to see Biden engage in debates with his challengers, with 72 percent of Biden supporters in favor of the idea. Despite the enthusiasm for a debate, the Democratic National Committee has announced that it will not sponsor any debates for the upcoming election.
