An abducted 31-year-old woman and her 2-month-old daughter have been safely found, but the suspect, the woman’s husband, remains at large.
The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for Sabrina Sanchez and her daughter Itzel Sanchez after they were last seen with 25-year-old Efrain Sanchez-Jiminez in Lancaster. Fortunately, they were found safe at the U.S.-Mexico border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection personnel. However, details about their discovery have not been released.
Efrain Sanchez-Jiminez is still on the run, and his vehicle, a silver 2007 Buick Lucerne with Colorado license plate number AUI-X94, has not been located yet.
Sanchez-Jiminez is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and silver shorts.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated that the victims likely left with the suspect out of duress and fear for their safety, as the suspect had previously committed a sexual assault against a family member.
Sanchez has made threats to kill his wife and child, and it is believed that he is armed with a handgun. Therefore, he should be considered armed and dangerous.
