Republicans show confusion over President Joe Biden’s presumed nomination for the Democrat Party in 2024.
Many question the nomination of someone who stumbles on stage, randomly shouts “God Save the Queen,” exhibits confusion at times, and becomes the oldest president in American history.
Republicans and independents are concerned about the rising inflation rate, the humanitarian crisis at the southern border, increasing crime in major cities, extreme social policies, massive deficits, and the evident decline of America’s reputation and power worldwide. They ponder how an administration responsible for these failures can be renominated.
Furthermore, Republicans raise concerns about Vice President Kamala Harris’ incompetence, considering the statistical possibility of her assuming the presidency during a second Biden term.
Republicans and independents also question the competence of the Biden Cabinet. Members ranging from incompetent to invisible raise doubts. How can the Secretary of Transportation overlook transportation disasters? How can the Secretary of Defense prioritize wokeness over combat readiness? How can the Secretary of the Treasury be overwhelmed by inflation, international financial instability, and a lack of success in working with Congress? How can the Secretary of Homeland Security oversee a border disaster and allow millions to enter the country illegally?

Moreover, Republicans express concern about reports of corruption involving Hunter Biden, the President, and the entire Biden family. They observe FBI corruption and a clear double standard in targeting former President Donald Trump and allies while protecting Hillary Clinton and the Bidens. Republicans anticipate that the corruption and use of government to attack political rivals will repulse the American people.
As I observe the polls and analyze the strategic moves of the Biden team, I am increasingly convinced that we are underestimating President Biden’s strength.
Our underestimation stems from a fundamental misunderstanding of the modern Democrat Party.
Since President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s era, the Democrat Party has formed a coalition of diverse interest and ideological groups. FDR united Southern segregationists and African American Congressmen from Chicago. He attracted hardcore anti-Communists and Communist sympathizers like his second Vice President Henry Wallace.
Unlike the Republican Party, which relies on issues and speeches, Democrats rely on their allies’ self-interest. Their motto is “show me the money,” much like the movie “Jerry Maguire.”
Coalitions are built on the principle of mutual support for different groups’ goals, as long as there is reciprocation.
Trial lawyers, labor unions, environmental activists, racial activists, and sexual-gender activists find comfort in being part of a large coalition that does not require unanimity but shares the spoils of government.

Everyday Republicans represent free enterprise, small businesses, and people who desire minimal interference. They often fail to recognize the power of trillions of dollars in spending that unifies a coalition driven by greed for tax dollars.
Thus, from the left’s perspective, Biden has been an exceptional President. He is not inept or incompetent; instead, he faithfully advances the liberal agenda. He outspends his predecessors on environmental initiatives, channels funds to union contracts, and reshapes regulators and government agencies to favor unions and undermine management.

He directs money towards teachers’ unions and supports their values. He employs the Department of Justice to protect allies and harass conservative Americans.
He appoints advocates of radical lifestyles and promotes extreme absolutist policies in his administration.
The left does not perceive weakness in Biden’s foreign policy and national security agenda. They do not want a dominant America bullying the rest of the world, as their worldview suggests.
Lastly, high gas prices motivate working Americans to consider purchasing electric cars. Only pain at the pump will drive this change.
Republicans may identify weaknesses in Biden for a general election, but they underestimate his strength within his own party.
