The True Food restaurant in Houston, Texas witnessed a unique and creative sight on May 18, as a family of seven women clad in wedding gowns enjoyed their girls’ night out. The outing was shared by lifestyle content creator Alexis Houston, 25, on Instagram, garnering over 7.7 million views. The group included Alexis, her mother Terri Bonin, her sisters Madeleine Frost, Sydnie Bonin, Annalise Hiley, and Kate Bonin, along with sister-in-law Hannah Joy Bonin.
During a conversation with Fox News Digital, Madeleine, Sydnie, and Hannah Joy explained that the idea for the family outing originated when one of the Bonin sisters came across a video featuring a group of women wearing their wedding dresses again. After some discussion, the sisters decided to wear their own wedding gowns or fancy evening gowns for a special ladies’ night out.
The sisters shared that they usually have a monthly dinner together and had already planned a “sister date” for the following week. Hence, it was the perfect opportunity to make their outing even more memorable and unconventional. Madeleine, Sydnie, Annalise, and Hannah Joy wore their wedding gowns, while Terri opted for Sydnie’s white prom dress, and Kate wore a white dress she found on the day of the event.
Apart from minor last-minute arrangements and purchases, Hannah Joy had to remove her wedding gown from its preservation case. However, she considered it worthwhile as her four-year-old daughter got the chance to try on her veil, an experience she wouldn’t have had if the gown was still preserved.
The sisters hope to find Terri’s wedding gown and plan to make their wedding-themed dinner a yearly tradition. They enjoyed the experience of dressing up and are now considering themed girls’ nights for their monthly outings.
The sisters noted that passersby and people at the restaurant were fascinated by their attire, questioning if they were all getting married and offering well wishes and compliments. The wedding-themed girls’ night brought the “Bonin Girls” closer and created a new cherished memory for them.
Although they didn’t set out to go viral, the group of seven sisters never expected their Instagram Reel to receive millions of views and hundreds of thousands of likes. Their intention was simply to relive memories and create new ones during their girls’ night out.
