Award-winning actress Iza Calzado expressed her heartfelt tribute to her late father, Lito Calzado, a television director and choreographer, on Father’s Day.
This marks the 12th year that the “Starting Over Again” star will be celebrating Father’s Day without her beloved father, who passed away in November 2011 due to liver cancer.
In an emotional Instagram post, Calzado expressed her gratitude to her father for his unconditional love. “Thank you for always enveloping me in your warm, tender, and comforting embrace,” she wrote in the caption.
The Kapamilya actress also acknowledged how her father’s example of genuine love has allowed her to shower her four-month-old daughter, Deia Amihan, with immense love. “You taught me how to love wholeheartedly, and because of that, I am able to give so much love to my child,” explained Calzado, who considers herself a forever daddy’s girl.
“I love you! ❤️” she concluded her touching Father’s Day greeting.
In January, just days before giving birth to her first child, Calzado penned a heartfelt birthday message to her father, asking him to watch over her and her baby during childbirth. She expressed her desire to feel her father’s presence, stating, “We want to feel you with us, dad. ❤️”
In the same post, she expressed her wish for her daughter to inherit her famous choreographer father’s warmth, charm, and calming energy.
In a recent interview with “Magandang Buhay,” the actress shared how her daughter possesses the same energy as her late father, Lito Calzado. She noticed a resemblance between her child and her father.
Prior to her father’s passing, Calzado also experienced the loss of her mother, Mary Ann Ussher, in 2001.
