Mistakenly Extended Invitation Sends Georgia Realtor to Play in the Masters

CNN

Scott Stallings was surprised when he received a package at his condo on Georgia’s Saint Simons Island. Inside was an invitation to play in the highly esteemed Masters tournament in April. However, there was one small problem – this Scott Stallings is a realtor in Atlanta, not the world’s 54th ranked golfer and three-time PGA Tour winner also named Scott Stallings.

In a direct message to the pro-golfer Stallings, the realtor Stallings expressed his disbelief, stating, “I’m 100% sure this is NOT for me. I play but wow! Nowhere near your level.”

Meanwhile, the pro-golfer Stallings, who was in Hawaii at the time, tweeted about eagerly awaiting an invite to the Masters. Instead, he received a direct message on Instagram from the realtor Stallings, informing him of the mix-up. Augusta National has been contacted for a comment on the situation.

The realtor Stallings provided further proof to the pro-golfer Stallings by sharing a photo of the invitation on Instagram. Initially thinking it was a prank, the pro-golfer Stallings was convinced of the mix-up upon seeing the photo.

In an Instagram post, the realtor Stallings revealed that he had considered showing up with his clubs and the invite, but his wife convinced him to reach out to the other Stallings.

Interestingly, both Stallings have wives named Jennifer.

To rectify the situation, the realtor Stallings took the invitation to a local shipping store and mailed it to the intended recipient.
