Services on Facebook and Instagram, two popular social media apps owned by Meta Platforms, have been restored after a temporary outage that impacted thousands of users. The outage, which also affected Meta’s messaging service WhatsApp, was reported by nearly 20,000 users. However, the number of outage reports decreased to less than 500 as the issue was resolved.
Downdetector.com, an outage-tracking website, collects status reports from various sources including user-submitted errors to track outages. It is possible that the actual number of affected users is larger than reported.
In addition to the social media apps, issues with Meta’s Ads Manager, a tool for purchasing and creating Facebook ads, have also been resolved.
Despite recent leaks and claims, Meta intends to continue releasing AI tools. Furthermore, the company is planning to cut thousands of jobs in the near future, according to Bloomberg News.
