Popular comedian and former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Pete Davidson is facing misdemeanor charges for reckless driving after allegedly crashing into a residential property in Beverly Hills while driving his Mercedes-Benz.
The incident took place on March 4 around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Elevado Avenue. Thankfully, no one was hurt during the accident. According to reports, Davidson lost control of his vehicle, hitting a fire hydrant before colliding with the side of a house.
TMZ has revealed that Davidson’s girlfriend, actress Chase Sui Wonders, was also in the car at the time of the crash.
The District Attorney’s Office has announced that the 29-year-old comedian is scheduled to appear for arraignment on July 27.
In a statement, the District Attorney’s Office emphasized the seriousness of the situation: “We have reason to believe that Mr. Davidson was engaging in reckless driving, which ultimately led to this serious collision with a residential property. Fortunately, no one sustained significant injuries as a result of this incident. However, it is crucial that we address the growing concern of reckless driving, as traffic fatalities in Los Angeles have reached a 20-year high in 2022. This alarming trend cannot be ignored. Therefore, it is imperative that we treat all allegations of reckless driving seriously and hold the responsible individuals accountable.”
