Mentoring credited for the success of Coumba Ndoye

Meet Coumba Ndoye, a Senegal-born engineer turned senior manager and deputy director of Fab 8 Business Operations at GlobalFoundries in Malta. Ndoye’s success can be attributed to her humility, thoughtfulness, and determination. However, she also credits her relationships with mentors, who helped her recognize her potential and encouraged her to take risks.

Ndoye never saw herself as a manager or leader but was convinced of the value in building a team and teaching others to look through her lens. She describes herself as a laid-back manager who focuses on finding each team member’s unique strengths and holding them accountable for their work.

Ndoye’s passion for what she does keeps her from watching the clock and she finds joy in the beauty and experiences the Capital Region has to offer.

As an emerging professional, Ndoye advises other young women to stand by their principles and not let anyone tell them what they can or cannot do. Her success story is an inspiration to women in male-dominated industries like engineering.
