Report: Passenger Allegedly Bit Cops on Southwest Flight After Being Forced Off

  • A Southwest flight passenger, identified as Kamaryn Gibson from Olathe, Kansas by NOLA report, bit and kicked cops after being forced off the plane.
  • Police had to restrain Gibson on a wheelchair after she bit a deputy on the thigh and kicked two other police officers.
  • Some TikTok users are suggesting airports stop serving alcohol or impose a 2 drink limit to control such unruly behavior.

An intoxicated passenger, Kamaryn Gibson, has bitten and kicked officers after being forced off a Southwest flight. This incident has led some TikTok users to demand restrictions on alcohol consumption at airports.

A video shared by Johnathan Fancher showed a woman, identified as Gibson, being handcuffed by police on a Southwest flight. Gibson was heard saying, “I paid for my flight!” as deputies from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office yanked her out of her seat and pulled her along the plane’s aisle.

According to NOLA, Gibson put her feet up on the seat in front of her and kicked another passenger in the head. The Southwest flight was forced to return to the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport as a result of her unruly behavior.

James Rivarde, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, confirmed that Gibson refused to exit the plane multiple times, and deputies had to use force to remove her. She was charged with three counts of battery of a police officer along with other crimes, and later released on a $6,000 bond on May 30.

“Airports probably should stop serving alcohol or set like a 2 drink limit lol,” commented @katiecakes43, as other users suggest barring airport bars from serving alcoholic drinks. In 2021, Southwest had banned in-flight alcohol after a passenger assaulted a flight attendant, while several US lawmakers have discussed the same for airport bars. However, Southwest, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Gibson have not commented on this incident.
