It was a night filled with fierce competition on The Voice as the Battle Rounds continued. Some standout performances included Niall Horan’s dreamy songstresses Alexa Wildish and LVNDR singing a Billie Eilish ballad, John Legend’s powerful singers Azán and Taylor Deneen taking on a sexy Chloe x Halle tune, and the feisty Team Legend newcomers Elizabeth Evans and Kaylee Shimizu impressively tackling an Olivia Rodrigo hit. However, one Battle stood out for its “gross” factor, in a good way! Gwen Stefani didn’t even want to be in the same room as one of the divas.
Team Gwen’s Joslynn Rose and Rudi made history on The Voice with the first-ever performance of Evanescence’s “My Immortal.” Gwen noted the difficulty of the song, but Rudi, coming from an R&B background, was able to channel her inner rock goddess. The coaches praised Rudi’s powerful and flawless performance, with John describing her as “impressive” and Niall commending her for climbing a musical mountain. Gwen was particularly impressed with Rudi’s tastefulness within the genre. Therefore, Gwen chose Rudi to move on to the Knockout Rounds.

Team Legend: Elizabeth Evans vs. Kaylee Shimizu, “Traitor”
This Battle presented a tough decision for John, as both artists impressed with their unique styles. Kaylee showcased impeccable vocals, but Elizabeth’s punky personality and standout performance won the coaches over. Reba used her steal to save Elizabeth, creating an unexpected match that could bring out the best in both artists.
