July 3 (UPI) — The “Troll Apartment,” located in California and positioned in the middle of a Los Angeles County bridge, was recently sold for $430,000, surpassing its original asking price by $180,000.
What made this Alhambra home gain significant attention online was its unconventional placement beneath the road and above the arch of a bridge, providing a unique view of the Alhambra wash.
The house, constructed in 1949, was initially listed for $250,000. However, a competitive bidding war eventually drove the final sale price up to $430,000, according to Douglas Lee, the real estate agent handling the listing at Compass real estate.
“In my entire residential real estate career, this is unquestionably the most extraordinary listing I’ve ever encountered,” remarked Douglas Lee in an interview with KTLA-TV.
The property possesses a remarkable feature—an enclosed “rooftop patio” area situated beside the street that crosses over the bridge.
“There’s a tremendous amount of inherent uniqueness and appeal to this dwelling,” explained Lee. “Instead of alienating potential buyers, it has been perceived as an exceedingly one-of-a-kind and fascinating property.”
The previous owner of the house, who acquired it in 2005, initially intended to transform it into an exceptional retreat but primarily ended up using it for storage purposes.
