Darren Kent, a highly talented actor known for his appearances in popular shows like “Game of Thrones,” “Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” and “EastEnders,” passed away at the age of 36.
This heartbreaking news was officially confirmed by Darren Kent’s talent agency, Carey Dodd Associates, through a heartfelt statement shared on Twitter.
“We are deeply saddened to inform you that our beloved friend and client, Darren Kent, peacefully passed away on Friday. His parents and best friend were by his side during this difficult time. Our thoughts and love go out to his family. May he rest in peace,” expressed the agency.
Darren Kent, born and raised in Essex, had a passion for acting from a young age. He attended Italia Conti and graduated in 2007, launching his career. His breakthrough role came in 2008 with the horror film “Mirrors.” In his diverse portfolio, Kent also had a memorable appearance as a goatherd in Slavers Bay on an episode of “Game of Thrones.” Most recently, he portrayed a reanimated corpse in the 2023 movie “Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.”
Kent’s impressive list of credits includes notable projects such as “Snow White and the Huntsman,” “Marshal’s Law,” “Bloody Cuts,” “The Frankenstein Chronicles,” “Blood Drive,” “Les Misérables,” “Green Fingers,” “EastEnders,” “Happy Hours,” “Love Without Walls,” and “Birds Sorrow.”
One of Kent’s remarkable achievements was winning the Best Actor award at the Van D’or Awards in 2012 for his portrayal of Danny, a young boy with a rare skin condition that kept him away from sunlight, in the film “Sunny Boy.” Interestingly, Kent also dealt with a skin disorder, osteoporosis, and arthritis in real life. Besides acting, he was a talented writer and director, earning recognition for his 2021 short film “You Know Me,” which received a January Award.
