Winning weeks in the NFL are great, right? Well, maybe not so much. I finished 8-7-1 against the spread and 9-7 straight up with my NFL picks last week, but it still doesn’t sit well with me. The reason? My co-worker Dave Richard, part of our CBSSports.com Expert Picks, went an impressive 14-1-1 ATS. Clearly, it wasn’t a tough week. Hey Dave, would you agree?
I desperately need a better week. Currently, I hold a 88-85-7 record ATS and a 108-72 straight up record for the season. With December approaching, the contenders start to emerge. It’s the perfect time for a strong week significantly above .500 both ATS and straight up.
Let’s take a closer look at some of this week’s key matchups:
Thursday, 8:15 p.m. ET (Amazon Prime Video)
The Cowboys are on fire, while the Seahawks are struggling. My pick is the Cowboys with a decisive 31-20 victory.
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)
Even though the Chargers have been underperforming, the Patriots have been worse. Look for the Chargers to come out on top with a 23-10 win.
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo)
The Lions’ defense issues will work in favor of the Saints, who will win a shootout with a score of 32-30.
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, fubo)
The Falcons will edge out the Jets with a narrow 19-17 victory.
Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)
The Steelers’ solid defense will be too much for the Cardinals to handle, resulting in a 24-13 win for the Steelers.
