Usher’s Emotional Farewell: Breakdown during Last Vegas Residency Show

Usher, like Frank Sinatra before him, concluded his My Way Las Vegas residency in a way that’s uniquely his own.

The 45-year-old entertainer concluded his My Way Las Vegas residency, marking the occasion with overwhelming emotion.

In a fan-made video, Usher was seen dropping to his knees in tears while surrounded by dancers and crew from his show during a moving performance of “Without You.” The emotional moment was followed by an a capella rendition of the 2011 David Guetta hit, with Usher being joined by his band and the audience once he had regained his composure.

As the residency, which commenced in July 2022, came to an end, Usher thanked the audience, saying, “God bless you, I love you.”

The “Confessions” singer took to social media to share a video from 2004 where he discussed the idea of doing a Vegas show, an endeavor that was considered a last resort for artists nearing the ends of their careers at the time.

In the clip, Usher expressed his theatrical nature, stating, “If I did decide to go to Las Vegas, it would be the most phenomenal thing you’ve ever seen in your life.”

He added, “It wouldn’t be like, ‘Oh God, he’s washed up and this is just his opportunity to just, you know, collect as many checks as he wants to.’ No. It will be a phenomenal show.”

Captioning the post, “I saw it then…look at me now.”

And this is just the beginning for Usher. Up next, he will headline the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show on Feb. 11, the same day he’ll release his ninth studio album, Coming Home.

Expressing his gratitude, Usher said, “It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before. Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
