In a shocking turn of events, a Kentucky prosecutor has been charged with the murder of his wife over two years ago, along with tampering with evidence. The indictment, filed last week, reveals that 52-year-old Donald Kyle Deskins allegedly killed Judith Dawn Deskins, 46, on April 24, 2021, “with the intent to cause her death or under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to human life, wantonly engaged in conduct which created a grave risk of death,” as reported by Law & Crime. The indictment further states that she died from blunt force trauma, according to Mountain Top Media.
Deskins, who previously worked as an assistant county attorney in Pike County, currently serves as the city attorney in Elkhorn City, as reported by WYMT. The indictment reveals that Deskins “destroyed, mutilated, concealed, removed, or altered physical evidence” at his home on the day of his wife’s death. He is also accused of tampering with evidence on July 28, 2021, when he handed his laptop over to investigators, according to NBC News.
Interestingly, the day before surrendering his laptop to investigators, Deskins made a Facebook announcement about being in a new relationship, which sparked congratulations from his friends, as mentioned by Law & Crime. Since his arrest last week, Deskins has been held without bond.
