Travel Etiquette: Where You Put Your Luggage Says A Lot About You

Are you the type of traveler who puts your compact carry-on in the overhead bin, only to be forced to check it at the last minute because someone else has filled it with their personal belongings? According to one popular TikToker, where you decide to store your luggage on a plane says a lot about your character.
Content creator Daniel Bennet sparked a heated debate with his viral clip, in which he argued that placing personal items in the overhead compartment and stowing carry-on luggage under the seat makes someone a good person who is aware of their surroundings. On the other hand, he declared that those who use the overhead bins for small personal items like jackets are the “worst type of person” and deserve a “jail sentence for life.”
In response, viewers engaged in spirited discussions about proper plane etiquette, ranging from the placement of personal items to the rush to get on and off the plane. Some agreed with Bennett, expressing their frustration with passengers who use the overhead bins for anything other than carry-on luggage, while others argued that it’s acceptable to store small items in the bins in order to make room for their legs.
