PHILADELPHIA – Following a triumphant performance at home in The Palestra, the University of Pennsylvania women’s basketball team is hitting the road for a four-game journey. The first stop is on Sunday at No. 23 Marquette with tip-off scheduled for 2 p.m. eastern.

Marquette is one of eight teams in the top 25 with a flawless 7-0 record.
 
• Marquette’s recent victory over Memphis was a dominant 88-59 win, with four players in double figures led by Liza Karlen’s 21 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.
 
Rose Nkumu and Mackenzie Hare each contributed 17 points, while Jordan King had 14 along with a game-high six assists.
 
Marquette boasts an average of 83 points per game, holding opponents to 58, with 8.4 blocks and 4.3 steals per game.
 
Penn’s Last Time Out
The Quakers secured their first Big 5 victory of the season with a 79-71 win against La Salle, improving to 5-2.
 
In the game, junior Stina Almqvist led the team with 24 points, shooting .500 from the floor (9-18) and .750 from the line (6-8), adding six rebounds. Almqvist averages 19.7 points per game, ranking third in the Ivy League in scoring.
 
Senior Jordan Obi shot .500 from the floor (7-14), contributing 18 points. Obi is ranked in the top 10 in the Ivy League for scoring (13.3) and rebounding (6.4), as well as top three in both steals (2.3) and blocks (1.9).
 
• Freshman Mataya Gayle delivered another strong performance with 18 points, along with a career-high eight rebounds and three assists.
 
Junior Lizzy Groetsch scored 17 points and nine rebounds, her third game this season tying her career-high in boards.
 
Freshman Ese Ogbevire and sophomore Saniah Caldwell combined for nine of the 21 total assists for the Quakers. Ogbevire posted a career-high five assists, while Caldwell had a career-high four.
 
For the third time in four games, the Quakers shot over .500 for the game, shooting .524 for the night and knocking in 10-for-12 at the line. Penn is shooting .439 for the season, second best in the Ivy League.
 
Stat Leaders
Almqvist leads the Quakers in points (19.7) and rebounds (7.0) per game, ranking third in the Ivy League.
 
• Obi leads Penn in steals (2.3) and blocks (1.9) and is top three in both categories in the Ivy League.
 
Gayle leads the Red and Blue in assists (3.1) and is tied for top 10 in the Ivy League.
 
Groetsch takes the top spot for three-point percentage with .500 and is fifth among all players in the Ivy League.
 
Penn is ranked third in both points per game (72) and points margin (5.4) among all Ivy teams.
 
A Look Ahead
The Quakers continue their road stretch for another three games, facing Villanova (Dec. 5), Merrimack (Dec. 8) and Temple (Dec. 10).

• Penn returns to The Palestra on December 30 and 31 to wrap up the calendar year against Maine and Gwynedd Mercy. Both games are set for 1 p.m.
