The Overhang got the first mock draft just in time for Thanksgiving Eve! Dive into these thirty-two picks before filling up on turkey and too much food tomorrow!
The Bears are the first team in the spotlight. Yahoo’s Charles McDonald emerged with his initial 2024 NFL mock draft in November.
1. Chicago Bears (via Carolina Panthers) — Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina
Maye leading as the No. 1 pick should not surprise anyone. Since spring, he has been my QB1 and even has comparisons to Caleb Williams. Maye possesses all the qualities of a star quarterback, from size and athleticism to arm strength and creativity. His scrambling efficiency is unmatched; in fact, he has the highest rate of earning first downs while scrambling in all of the FBS.
With Justin Fields having a solid game against the Detroit Lions in Week 11, watch out for him. Maye’s selection may be a better decision given the possibility to trade Fields for more draft capital and provide the Bears an edge. This drama makes for an interesting story to follow going forward.
2. Arizona Cardinals — Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State
Do the Cardinals hold onto Murray and add more offensive talent, or seek other options post-injury? In this scenario, the Cardinals hold onto Murray and look to add more offensive talent around him. Harrison is a clean and superb wide receiver prospect with the ability to mimic a veteran in his rookie season.
3. New England Patriots — Caleb Williams, QB, USC
The Patriots have not selected this high since the selection of quarterback Drew Bledsoe in 1993. Williams is a game-changer; his creation ability gives NFL offenses a spark and the type of ability to off-script and ad-lib yards and points. He could also mitigate some of the muddy pockets that he would navigate behind the Patriots’ offensive line.
4. Chicago Bears — Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State
Though Joe Alt or Olu Fashanu may be deserving of such a high selection, the Bears should consider a wide receiver. Keon Coleman fits the bill as a good wide receiver prospect.
