Jin Wook Kim from Korea not only gained the admiration of his fellow Man of the World contestants but also impressed the judges and secured the prestigious title at the final ceremony of the pageant held in Makati City’s Samsung Performing Arts Theater.
Kim, who was voted as Mister Congeniality by his peers, becomes the second Korean to win the Man of the World title, following in the footsteps of Jin Kyu Kim who inherited the crown in 2019 after the original winner, Daniel Georgiev from Bulgaria, was dethroned.
The 28-year-old managing director of a fashion company excelled in the formal wear competition and placed third in the swimwear competition. Additionally, he was awarded Best in Beach Wear and finished second in the Best in Fashion of the World category.
During the “World Statements” round with the Top 10 delegates, Kim greeted the crowd and expressed his belief in the transformative power of exercise. He emphasized the importance of education, particularly in sports and physical activities, as a means to create a better world.
In the final round with the Top 5 contestants, Kim was asked to elaborate on the quote he drew from a bowl: “the love of money is the root of all evil.” He responded by highlighting the significance of focusing on what truly matters in life, such as happiness and family, rather than solely pursuing wealth.
Ahead of 23 other aspirants, Kim emerged as the winner in the fifth edition of the Manila-based competition organized by Prime Event Productions Philippines Foundation Inc., which also oversees the annual national search Misters of Filipinas.
James Reggie Vidal from the Philippines achieved the same feat as his predecessor by finishing as the second runner-up. He was previously recognized as the “Man of Travel” by pageant sponsor Holiday Inn Express and received the Best in Fashion of the World award.
