Man Shocked to Find Chopsticks Lodged in His Skull After 5 Months of Severe Headaches
The shocking discovery: A 35-year-old man in Vietnam sought medical help at the Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi on Nov. 25 after experiencing severe headaches, fluid discharge, and loss for five months. CT scans revealed that he had tension pneumocephalus, a rare and potentially life-threatening condition. Further examination led by Dr. Nguyen Van Man discovered that a pair of chopsticks had penetrated his nose and entered his brain.
A trip down memory lane: The patient vaguely recalled being stabbed in the face during a fight five months prior, possibly with the chopsticks. Despite visiting the hospital after the altercation, the utensils remained undiscovered in his skull until his recent medical check-up. Read more here.
