Westminster police are currently searching for a 32-year-old woman, Ashley Dee-Anna Charnley, who is the prime suspect in the fatal stabbing of a man believed to be her boyfriend.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the 13000 block of Goldenwest Street, near the Garden Grove (22) Freeway, according to Sgt. Alan Aoki of the Westminster Police Department. Charnley allegedly stabbed the man in the abdomen.
Efforts were made to save the victim’s life by the Westminister Police Department officers and Orange County Fire Authority paramedics, who rushed him to the hospital. Unfortunately, he passed away at the hospital, as confirmed by Aoki.
“Charnley and the victim are believed to have been in a dating relationship, however, the motive for the stabbing is still unclear,” stated Deputy Chief Cameron Knauerhaze of the Westminister Police Department.
A murder warrant has been issued for Charnley, along with a search warrant for narcotic offenses, according to Aoki.
Charnley is known to frequent motels in the North and West Orange County areas. Detectives have described her as a 5-foot, 9-inch white woman weighing 175 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Her last registered address was in Mission Viejo.
