Hyundai Verna: Upgraded Safety Features

Experience enhanced car safety with Hyundai’s new portfolio. All Hyundai models now come equipped with 6 airbags as a standard feature. This essential addition not only ensures the driver and front passenger are protected, but also prioritizes the safety of rear occupants in the event of a side impact.

Hyundai’s Commitment to Safer Cars

Hyundai goes above and beyond with their “Safer Cars for India” campaign. Advanced technology enables these airbags to deploy based on impact severity and seating position, minimizing the risk of serious injuries. Unlike the Government’s requirement for 8-seater vehicles, Hyundai has made 6 airbags a standard feature across their entire range.

Previously, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Hyundai Aura, Hyundai Venue, and Venue N Line did not include 6 airbags as standard. However, they have now been upgraded to meet the new safety standards. This initiative commenced with the iONIQ 5, which featured 6 airbags and ADAS Level 2 as standard. In early 2023, the Grand i10 NIOS, Aura, Creta, and Alcazar also received this upgrade, leading to Hyundai’s current portfolio of models with 6 airbags as a standard safety feature.

In the first quarter of 2023, Hyundai introduced 6 airbags and ADAS Level 2 in the new Verna. Subsequent months saw the addition of standard 3-point seat belts and seat belt reminders. The Exter, Venue, and i20 also received the upgrade. Hyundai now leads the industry by offering 6 airbags as standard across their entire vehicle lineup.

Hyundai Verna Receives 5 Star Rating from GNCAP

The new generation Hyundai Verna has achieved a remarkable 5 Star rating for Adult and Child Occupant Protection from GNCAP. In adult occupant protection, the sedan scored 28.18 points out of 34.00, while attaining 42.00 points out of 49.00 in child occupancy. This accolade positions the Verna as Hyundai’s first car manufactured in India to obtain a 5 Star safety rating, empowering it to effectively compete with the Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus.

Apart from the standard 6 airbags and ADAS Level 2, the Verna boasts a total of 65 safety features, with 30 offered as standard. Regarded as the safest sedan in its segment, the body of the Verna is constructed with advanced high-strength steel and ultra-high-strength steel. Reinforcements, increased side thickness, and improved door protection contribute to the overall body stiffness, providing enhanced safety for occupants.
