Authorities in Los Angeles County are seeking the assistance of the public in solving four separate unsolved homicides, one of which dates back over 16 years. Sheriff Robert Luna, speaking at a press conference held in downtown Los Angeles, emphasized the significance of the public’s help in bringing relief to the families of the victims. Luna urged individuals to contact the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau and share any missing information that could help solve these crimes.
Victims’ family members and Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon were also present at the news conference. Gascon stated the importance of working together to ensure accountability, although acknowledging that it cannot bring back the victims.
During the press conference, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors announced rewards for information relating to the discussed cases. The following are the cases and the respective rewards:
– In 2007, Luis Sandoval, 70, was shot and killed while riding his bicycle on Olympic Boulevard in East Los Angeles. Authorities believe he was an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire of a shootout between rival tagging crews. A reward of $25,000 has been offered for information in this case.
– Keith Jackson, 43, was fatally shot in 2016 while sitting in his vehicle on Alondra Boulevard in Compton. The shots were fired from another vehicle that approached his parked car. A reward of $20,000 has been offered for any information leading to the resolution of this case.
– Estephan Hernandez, 21, was shot and killed in 2017 while sitting in a parked vehicle with a friend in Compton. Gunfire erupted from another vehicle, resulting in Hernandez’s death and the hospitalization of his friend. A reward of $10,000 has been offered for information in this case.
– In 2018, Michael Moreno, 35, was shot and killed in the San Dimas area. Moreno and his friend were standing in front of a residence when the shooting occurred. His friend was hospitalized. A reward of $10,000 has been offered for any information that helps solve this case.
